when making a beat can you sample old school music for free if not signed to a record label?
i like sampling other music when i make beats but i dont know if i could still sell them or if another artist thats not signed releases and sells his disc on the streets or the internet…could i be sued by the original artist if he or she hears the sample in the song…
You will get sued if the original artist has a copyright for the works but if you are sampling something which the artist has been dead for 70 yrs , aye do what you want won’t get sued because it will be expired I mean the copyright acording to the copyright law and oh . . . Here is a trick matey , you can even sample a Kanye beat right now and still get away wit it because the lil magic to not getting caught is to eq that sample pour lil reverb on it make it totally unrecognizable with fxs that it sounds so fresh and new you be able to walk with that beat as yours .
